El centro de Higgs para la física teórica fue establecido por la Universidad de Edimburgo después del descubrimiento de un candidato bosón de Higgs en el CERN. El centro fue nombrado por el profesor Peter Higgs, quien recibió el Premio Nobel de física en octubre de 2013. El centro de Higgs lleva a cabo investigaciones en física teórica sobre una amplia gama de temas, que van desde los muy pequeños hasta los muy grandes: Astronomía, física de materia condensada, física biológica, cosmología, teoría de cuerdas, física nuclear y física de partículas.

Los programas MSC en física teórica y física matemática son parte fundamental del centro de Higgs para la física teórica. Los cursos son impartidos y los proyectos son supervisados por investigadores en el centro de Higgs.

The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures at the University of Edinburgh is delighted to invite applications for a postgraduate scholarship to be awarded in 2018/2019.

The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1582, is the sixth oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland’s ancient universities.

Applicants must have applied for a Masters programme of study within the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures before 11th April 2018. Their references must have been submitted by 25th April 2018. The award will support one female postgraduate masters student who has been domiciled in Scotland for a minimum of 4 years prior to the commencement of the MSc programme.
