Chevening Scholarships are for talented people who have been identified as potential future leaders across a wide range of fields including politics, business, the media, civil society, religion and academia. Most scholars undertake a one year master’s degree.

In the current academic year there are over 500 Chevening scholars at universities across the UK. The programme is mainly funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, with some contributions from Higher Education Institutions and other partners in the UK. Our Embassies and High Commissions also have partnership agreements with a wide range of overseas sponsors including governmental and private sector bodies. The programme is managed in UK and overseas by the British Council through a Service Level Agreement.

Becas de Doctorado en la University of Exeter en Inglaterra

Research is at the heart of the University of Exeter, and in order to develop the next generation of researchers more than 60 fully funded PhD studentships are now available across the arts and humanities, social sciences, business, and sciences. These cover all fees and a maintenance grant for three years. The university has a strong reputation, currently ranked 10th in the Times Good University Guide 2012. In the last Research Assessment Exercise, all 31 subjects offered included world-leading (4*) research and nearly 90 per cent of Exeter’s research was rated as internationally recognised. 2010/11 saw nearly £55 million in research grants and contracts secured and its research income grew by an impressive 23 per cent.

Fully funded PhD studentships covering all fees and a maintenance grant for 3 years are available across a wide range of subject areas.* As a general rule, Humanities, Social Science and Business awards are made available before Christmas, with additional studentships from the Sciences being made available in the New Year.
