The Oxford-Mok Graduate Scholarship in Chinese Studies at St Hugh’s College has been made possible thanks to a generous donation by Christopher and Edwin Mok. The scholarship celebrates the relationship between St Hugh’s College and the study of China, exemplified by the opening of the Dickson Poon University of Oxford China Centre building at St Hugh’s in September 2014. It is our intention that the scholarship strengthens the bond between the college and China Centre, encouraging an interdisciplinary approach to study.
The scholarship will cover 100% of University and college fees and a grant for living costs (of at least £13,863). Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course.
You should be applying to start a new DPhil in Oriental Studies course at Oxford, specialising in Chinese studies.
Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.
The scholarship is only tenable at St Hugh’s College. All eligible applicants will be considered for this scholarship, regardless of which college (if any) you state as your preference on the graduate application form. However, successful applicants will be transferred to St Hugh’s College in order to take up the scholarship.
