The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) in Kolkata, India and TWAS offer fellowships to young scientists from developing countries (other than India) who wish to pursue research towards a PhD in a field of natural sciences.
- TWAS-IACS Postgraduate Fellowships are tenable at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) for a period of up to four years for studies leading to a PhD degree. Research areas carried out include:
– Theoretical physics
– Condensed matter physics
– Materials science
– Non-conventional energy
– Physical chemistry
– Organic chemistry
– Inorganic chemistry
– Biological chemistry
– Polymer science
- IACS will provide a monthly stipend to cover living costs, food and health insurance. The monthly stipend will not be convertible into foreign currency.
- Applicants must observe the IACS academic calendar, which starts in April each year, and be ready to start their Fellowship on the first day of classes/courses.
- The language of instruction is English.
