Research is at the heart of the University of Exeter, and in order to develop the next generation of researchers more than 60 fully funded PhD studentships are now available across the arts and humanities, social sciences, business, and sciences. These cover all fees and a maintenance grant for three years. The university has a strong reputation, currently ranked 10th in the Times Good University Guide 2012. In the last Research Assessment Exercise, all 31 subjects offered included world-leading (4*) research and nearly 90 per cent of Exeter’s research was rated as internationally recognised. 2010/11 saw nearly £55 million in research grants and contracts secured and its research income grew by an impressive 23 per cent.
Fully funded PhD studentships covering all fees and a maintenance grant for 3 years are available across a wide range of subject areas.* As a general rule, Humanities, Social Science and Business awards are made available before Christmas, with additional studentships from the Sciences being made available in the New Year. We recommend you check this page regularly to identify new studentship opportunities as awards are subject to change.
